Quick coupler valve

(5) Counter-balance valveThe quick coupler valve is on the inside left wall of the frame. Retract solenoid (3) and extend solenoid (4) are used to engage or disengage the work tool with the quick coupler pins.

(7) Locking pinCoupler hydraulic cylinder (6) for the quick coupler locking pins are located in the coupler frame.Note: When using the quick coupler to engage a work tool, always verify that the coupler wedges are engaged in the proper position to lock the work tool. Visually inspect the coupler locking pin position or manipulate the tool in a manner that will confirm that the tool is locked in place.

Quick coupler switch location
(8) Quick coupler switchThe quick coupler gives the machine the ability to change work tools without leaving the seat. Press the top of quick coupler switch (8) to engage the coupler pins. To release the coupler pins, the red tab on the bottom of the switch must be pressed upward to unlock the switch. Then, press and hold the bottom of the switch in until the coupler pins disengage.Hydraulic Schematic

(12) Hydraulic oil tankThe hydraulic coupler system consists of charge pump (10), control valve (2), and coupler hydraulic cylinder (1). The coupler circuit is fed by charge pump (10) upstream demand fan motor (8). Control valve (2) consists of three components: pressure reducing valve (5), directional control valve (4), and counter-balance valve (7). Pressure reducing valve (5) regulates the pressure to a maximum value of 4000 kPa (580 psi) in the coupler circuit for coupler linkage performance and protection purposes.Directional control valve (4) controls the direction of flow being delivered and returned from the coupler hydraulic cylinder (1). When coupler engage solenoid (3) is energized, flow is delivered to counter-balance valve (7) and goes across the check valve before being delivered to the cylinder head end. The oil volume in the cylinder rod end is then returned to tank, thus resulting in cylinder extension.

(12) Hydraulic oil tankWhen coupler disengage solenoid (6) is energized, flow is delivered to the cylinder rod end thus creating some rod end pressure which acts against the counter-balance valve spool to shift the valve over so that cylinder head end pressure can be returned to tank. This action results in cylinder retraction. When neither solenoid is energized, there is no flow being delivered to coupler hydraulic cylinder (1).When coupler hydraulic cylinder (1) is in a neutral position, counter-balance valve (7) helps ensure that there is always some pressure retained in the cylinder
