All Caterpillar Articulated Dump Trucks of a particular model have the same Product Identification Number (PIN) prefix and are covered in the same parts book. These trucks also have a Configuration Number Plate which is not used on any other type of Caterpillar equipment. It is located next to the PIN Plate as shown in Illustration 1. The configuration number is essential for correct identification of parts.

In the Parts Book, you can easily see that you need Item 9. When you look at the chart to find the part number, three different part numbers are given. See Illustration 2. You MUST know the Configuration Number before you can identify the correct part.
