FLYWHEEL AS 3203669 - Caterpillar

1. Remove front crankcase guard.2. Drain the coolant from the radiator and the oil from the hydraulic tank. 3. Remove exhaust extension (1) and panel assembly (2). The weight of panel assembly is 41 kg (90 lb.). 4. Remove panels (3) and (4) from each side of the machine. 5. Remove three bolts (5) and spacers from frame assembly on each side of the machine. 6. Remove panel (6) from the right side of the radiator guard.
Always wear goggles when the air conditioning system is opened. This system is charged with Freon-12 (CCL2F2 Dichlorodifluoromethane) which is not toxic or flammable. There is however, reason for caution. When Freon-12 makes contact with a flame, lethal phosgene gas is made. INHALING FREON THROUGH A LIGHTED CIGARETTE CAN CAUSE VIOLENT ILLNESS. This system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. HEAT MUST NEVER BE APPLIED TO A CHARGED SYSTEM.
7. Disconnect hoses (7) from the air conditioner condenser. Put plugs in the hoses and condenser openings to keep dirt out of the system. 8. Remove the bolts that hold the fan guard assembly (8) to the radiator guard. 9. Remove tube assemblies (9) from the radiator. Remove fan guard assembly (8) from vehicle. 10. Disconnect tube assembly (11) from the radiator. Clean gasket material from the tube assembly.11. Disconnect hose assemblies (10) from the cooler bypass valve. 12. Remove panel (12). 13. Disconnect electrical plug (13). Be sure wiring harness to the radiator is not fastened to the frame by any clips. 14. Install tooling (A) and a hoist to the radiator guard (14). 15. Remove bolts through three holes (15) on each side of machine that fastens the radiator guard to the frame.16. Remove radiator and guard (14) from the frame. Weight of radiator and guard is 794 kg (1750 lb.).Install Radiator And Guard
Inspect all gaskets and make any replacements if needed. 1. Install tooling (A) and a hoist on radiator and guard. Install radiator and guard (1) on vehicle frame. 2. Install mounting bolts through holes (2) on each side of the radiator guard. 3. Connect electrical plug (3) and install panel (4). 4. Connect hoses (5) to the cooler bypass valve.5. Install tube assembly (6) on the radiator. 6. Install fan guard assembly (8) in position in the radiator guard. Install tube assemblies (7) on the radiator. 7. Connect hoses (9) to the air conditioner condenser. Charge the air conditioning system. See procedure in the Testing And Adjusting Form REG00947. 8. Install panel (10) on the radiator guard. 9. Install spacers and bolts (11) to fasten the left and right hand frame assemblies to the radiator guard. 10. Install exhaust extension (12) on muffler. Tighten bolts in clamp to a torque of 24 7 N m (18 5 lb.ft.). Install panel (13). 11. Install panels (14) and (15).12. Fill the radiator with coolant and the hydraulic tank to the specified levels.
