Rework Procedure
Lower the blade to the ground.
Remove the existing guards for the angle cylinders.
Remove any packed debris in the C-frame towers in the area around the cylinder mounts.
Completely remove the existing grease hose, connectors, and fittings from both angle cylinders.

Drill two 20 mm holes (A) on each side of the C-Frame tower. Repeat this step for the other side. See Table 3 and Illustration 1 for the correct hole location.

Install 90° pipe elbow (7) on both angle cylinders.
Connect one side of the new grease hose to the 90° pipe elbow. Repeat this step for the other side.

Connect the other side of the new grease hose to the inside of the new guard for the angle cylinder (1). Repeat this step for the other side.
Install the new guards for the angle cylinders by using the bolts and the washers from the old guards.
Connect the 3B-8489 Fittings to the outside of the new guards for the angle cylinders.

Use the clips, the grommets, the washers, and the bolts in order to clamp the hoses for the tilt cylinder to the new guards for the angle cylinders. The components are attached to the inside of the guard at point (F) .

Install guards (6). Fasten the guards by installing the pins through the holes that were drilled in Step 5. Install the cotters in the pins.Note: The new guards for the angle cylinders may interfere with the radiator guard on the D6M XL when the blade is raised to full height. If there is interference, remove the guards from the machine and modify the guards. The modification procedure is described in the following steps.

Flame cut section (C) from each guard.
Create slot (D) in the top of each guard. The width of the slot is 13.5 mm (0.5 inch) and the length of the slot is 26 mm (1 inch). The slot will be used to anchor the tilt cylinder hoses. Use the slot in place of hole (B) that is called out in Step 11.

Round out corner (F) on each guard. Elongate slots (E) by 10 mm (0.4 inch) on both sides of each guard.
