Illustration 1. 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slides.
Failure to correctly install the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide, and/or failure to correctly adjust the seat belt and slide can result in failure of the slide which can permit the seat belt to loosen.
The illustrations and the text which follow provide a procedure for the correct installation of the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide, and the correct adjustment procedure for the seat belt and anti-creep slides.
Installation Of The 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide
1. Remove the seat belt from the machine, and remove the buckle clasp and the buckle tongue from the belts. Next, remove the plastic cover from the buckle tongue.2. Lay the belt, manufacturer's dated label down, on a work surface. (See Illustration 2.)
Illustration 2.3. Look at the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide. The slide has two slots, and a tab on one side. One side of the tab has the wording "Anti-Creep Slide See Owners Manual." When you are working with the seat belt, the words on the anti-creep slide tab must face up, and the tab must be nearest the buckle end of the belt.4. Insert the end of the belt from the underside of the slide, through the slot furthest from the tab. (See Illustration 3.) Then, pull the belt over the center bar and thread it down through the slot nearest the tab.
Illustration 3.5. Move the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide approximately 457 mm (18") from the end of the belt as in Illustration 4.
Illustration 4.6. Install the buckle on the belt. To do this, insert the belt through the slot from the under side of the buckle. Pull the end of the belt out on the side of the slide bar nearest the tongue. Fold the belt back over the slide bar and thread the belt through the slot. (See Illustration 5.)
Illustration 5.7. From the under side of the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide, insert the end of the belt up through the slot nearest the tab as in Illustration 6. Then, thread the belt down through the slot as in Illustration 7.
Illustration 6.
Illustration 7.8. Fold the belt over the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide and, from the top, thread the end of the belt through the slot nearest the tab. (See Illustration 8.) Approximately 50 mm (2") must be pulled through the slot.
Illustration 8.9. Repeat the procedure for the other half of the seat belt.10. Install the belts on the machine. The seat belts and the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide can now be adjusted by the operator.Adjustment Of The Seat Belts
To adjust the seat belts, sit in the seat and buckle the belt. Check to make sure the belt is not twisted at either end. Twisted belts can put excessive stress on the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide and the fasteners that connect the belt to the machine.
Pull on the top web of the belt (buckle clasp side) to make the belt fit snugly. (See Illustration 9.) Then move the 7V2253 Anti-Creep Slide to eliminate the loop in the belt as in Illustrations 10 and 11. It may be necessary to do the
