After the cracks are repaired, add (T) "Plate" behind 113-5127 Plate and (U) "Block" between 113-5127 Plate and 113-5123 U Channel bracket. The (U) "Block" will replace the two spacers. It is recommended to have the (T) "Plate" and (U) "Block" on both side of the frame regardless whether the other side has crack or not. (Q) 113-5127 Plate (T) "Plate" fabricated. Illustration 18 g03522080
If machine is part of a fleet of similarly configured machines in same application, then for other machines, as a preventative measure:
Add an 8 mm (0.314 inch) fillet weld to the inboard side of the axle mount plates.
Increase fillet weld size to 16 mm (0.629 inch) along the rear side of the axle mount plates.
Refer to Repair Procedure for Fabricated Parts for procedure. Add (T) "Plate" behind axle mount gusset, (Q) 113-5127 Plate and (U) "Block" between (Q) 113-5127 Plate and (V) 113-5123 U Channel bracket to increase overall stiffness in the region.
Additional counterweight 700 kg (1543.234 lb) per 235-5987 Counterweight can be considered to better balance the machine in carry-on positions. Machines fitted with larger than standard bucket and standard counterweight 253-9352 Counterweight , consider replacing with casting counterweight, 234-3096 Counterweight , which will provide additional 700 kg (1543.234 lb) weight at the rear end and improve stability.
