Air Cleaner
Clean element
1. Remove the cup assembly and baffle assembly. 2. Remove the wing nut and slide the filter assembly out. 3. Clean the outside of the air cleaner housing with a clean cloth.
Do not clean the filter elements by bumping or tapping them.Inspect the filter elements after cleaning. Do not use a filter element with damaged pleats, gaskets or seals. When cleaning with pressure air, use 205 kPa (30 psi) maximum pressure to prevent filter element damage.
4. Direct air along pleats inside and outside of filter element. Direct air along pleats inside of filter element.5. Inspect the filter element after cleaning.Inspect the filter element. 6. Insert a light inside a dry and cleaned filter element. Discard any filter element with rips or tears. 7. Wrap and store the clean filter elements in a clean, dry place. 8. Place element in air cleaner and secure with wing nut. 9. Clean and replace the cup assembly and baffle assembly.Engine Crankcase
Change engine oil and filter.
For best results the engine should be warmed up before the oil is changed.
1. Shut off the engine and drain engine oil by removing the oil drain plug located behind the front wheels on the left side of the machine.
If the gasket on the oil drain plug is not made of brass or other metal, the gasket should be replaced before installing the oil drain plug.
2. After crankcase oil has drained, replace and tighten the oil drain plug. 3. Remove the oil filler cap and refill engine crankcase with new oil. 4. Remove and discard the old engine oil filter. 5. Lubricate the gasket on the new oil filter.6. Attach the new oil filter and hand tighten. Turn the filter 2/3 of a turn after the gasket has contacted the filter base.Battery
Check electrolyte level
1. Check level by removing battery fill caps and observing electrolyte level.2. Electrolyte level should reach the bottom of the fill opening. If level is low, add distilled water to raise electrolyte level.3. Replace battery fill caps.Water Separator
Replace element
Where combustible materials or explosive atmospheres exist; never light matches, smoke, create sparks, or use open flames. Personal injury or death may result from explosion or fire.
1. Release the filter clamp spring by pushing on outer finger tab while pulling back on the inner finger tab.2. Remove the spring clamp. 3. Remove element and replace with new element.4. Snap spring clamp in place.Vent the fuel system
1. Loosen the bleed screw. 2. Pump the prime lever until fuel free of bubbles flow from around the bleed screw.3. Tighten the bleed screw.4. Push the primer lever down.
If the engine will not start after you remove the air from the fuel system, bleed the injection pump.
5. Loosen the lower bleed screw. 6. Pump the primer lever until fuel free of bubbles flow from around the bleed screw. Push the primer lever down.7. Tighten the bleed screw to 3.5 N m (2.5 lb.-ft.). 8. Loosen the upper bleed screw.9. Repeat steps 6 and 7.
