1. Remove twenty-six bolts (1) and washers.2. Make a separation of manifold (2), valve group (3), plate (4) and valve group (5). 3. Disassemble selector and pressure control valve group (3) as follows:a) Remove two detent assemblies (8). Remove the seals from the detents.b) Remove the pin and stop (6) from the valve body.c) Remove valve spool (7) from the valve body. d) Remove two detent assemblies (10). Remove the seals from the detents.e) Remove the pin and stop from the valve body.f) Remove valve spool (9) from the valve body. g) Remove bolts (11) and cover (12). Check the condition of the seals in the cover (12). If the seals have damage, use new parts for replacement. h) Remove piston (14), spring (16) and spring (15) from the valve body. Remove spacers (13) from the piston. i) Remove valve spool assembly (17) from the valve body. Remove slug (18) from the valve spool assembly. j) Remove ring (21), retainer (20), spring (19) and plunger (23) from valve spool (22). k) Remove spring (25) and valve spool (24).
Retainer (27) has tension on it from the springs behind it. Hold the retainer in position when the ring that holds it is removed.
l) Remove ring (28), retainer (27) and the two springs from valve spool (26).m) Remove dowel (29) from the valve body. Remove valve spool (31) and spring (30) from the valve body. Remove slug (32) from the valve spool. n) Remove two dowels (33) and two stops (34) from the valve body. o) Remove plate (35) from the neutralizer valve. 4. Disassemble the neutralizer valve as follows:a) Remove bolt (38), spring (36) and valve spool (37) from the valve body.b) Remove the seal and ring from the valve spool.Assemble Transmission Hydraulic Controls
Make sure all the parts of the transmission hydraulic control valves are clean and free of dirt and foreign material. Put clean oil on all the parts before the valves are assembled.1. Assemble the neutralizer valve as follows: a) Install a new seal and ring on valve spool (4).b) Install spring (2) and valve spool (4) in the valve body.c) Push the valve spool in the valve body until bolt (1) can be installed behind land (3) on the valve spool. 2. Put plate (5) in position on the neutralizer valve. 3. Assemble the selector and pressure control valve group as follows:a) Install two stops (7) in the center parts of the valve body. Make sure the holes in the stops are in alignment with the holes in the valve body. Install two dowels (6) to hold the stops in position. b) Install the slug in valve spool (9). Install spring (10) and valve spool (9) in the valve body. Install dowel (8) to hold the valve spool and spring in the valve body.c) Turn the valve body around as shown. d) Install the two springs and retainer (12) in valve spool (11). Push the retainer into the valve spool and install the snap ring that holds
