FRAME AS. -LGP 1080844 - Caterpillar

At operating temperature the muffler is hot and can cause personal injury. Do not attempt to perform any maintenance on the muffler or engine until the components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
1. Open the hood of the engine compartment. 2. Fasten a nylon strap to muffler group (3), and support with a hoist as shown.3. Loosen clamp (1), and disconnect tube assembly (2) from the turbocharger.4. Remove four bolts and washers (4), and remove muffler group (3) and its tube assemblies. The following steps are for the installation of the muffler group.5. Position muffler group (3) and its tube assemblies inside the engine compartment, and secure with four bolts and washers (4).6. Secure tube assembly (2) to the turbocharger with clamp (1).7. Remove the nylon strap from muffler group (3), and close the engine compartment hood.
