Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove covers (1) .
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct draining procedure.

Remove drain valve (4) and O-ring seal (7) .
If necessary, remove the assembly of dipstick tube (1). Loosen nut (2) and remove dipstick tube (1). Remove O-ring seal (3) from dipstick tube (1) .Note: Identify the position and orientation of dipstick tube (1) .
Support engine oil pan (6) and remove bolts (8) .
Remove engine oil pan (6) and remove gasket (5) from the cylinder block.Installation Procedure

Ensure that the face of the cylinder block is clean and free from damage.

Install Tooling (A) to Positions (X) in the cylinder block.
Ensure that the engine oil pan is clean and free from damage.

Apply a bead of Tooling (B) to Positions (Y) on the cylinder block.Note: If the bridge piece for the cylinder block has just been installed, the engine oil pan must be installed before Tooling (B) has cured.

Position a new gasket (5) onto engine oil pan (6) .
Align the assembly of the engine oil pan with Tooling (A). Install the assembly of the engine oil pan to the cylinder block.
Apply Tooling (C) and install bolts (8) finger tight.
Remove Tooling (A) .
Apply Tooling (C) to remaining bolts (8). Install remaining bolts (8) finger tight.
Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in). Refer to Specifications, "Engine Oil Pan" for the correct tightening sequence.
Install a new O-ring seal (7) to drain valve (4). Install drain valve (4). Tighten drain valve (4) to a torque of 34 N m (25 lb ft).
If necessary, follow Step 12.a through Step 12.c in order to install the assembly of the dipstick tube.
Install a new O-ring seal (3) to dipstick tube (1) .
Apply Tooling (C) to nut (2). Install the dipstick tube (1) .Note: Ensure that the orientation of the tube assembly is correct.
Tighten nut (2) to a torque of 18 N m (159 lb in). Install the dipstick.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct filling procedure.
