Personal injury or death can result from boom lowering.The boom can drop when lowering it with the engine stopped.Keep all personnel away from the boom drop area when lowering the boom with the engine stopped.Be sure no one is under or near the front linkage before manually lowering the boom.
Lowering the Equipment with the Accumulator Charged
If electrical power is available and the accumulator is charged, the boom can be lowered from the operator station with the joystick control for the boom.
Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position.
Lower the hydraulic lockout control.
Slowly move the joystick control for the boom to the BOOM LOWER position in order to slowly lower the boom.If the boom does not lower, the accumulator is not charged. It is possible to recharge the accumulator by cranking the engine for a period of fifteen to twenty seconds. Repeat step 3.If there is no electrical power the boom must be lowered manually.Lowering the Equipment with the Accumulator Discharged
Personal injury can result from oil under high pressure.DO NOT allow high pressure oil to contact skin.Wear appropriate protective equipment while working with high pressure oil systems.
If there is no electrical power or the accumulator is not charged, the boom cannot be lowered with the joystick. The boom must be lowered manually.

Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for information on Containing Fluid Spillage.
Connect a hose to the boom manual lowering valve on the boom cylinder.
Slowly open the boom manual lowering valve in order to lower the boom. Drain hydraulic oil into a suitable container.
Close the boom manual lowering valve when the boom is lowered to the ground.
Make the necessary repairs before you operate the machine.
Refill the hydraulic tank in order to replace any fluid that was drained in the process. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydaulic System Oil Level - Check".
