The VIMSTM Truck Payload Measurement System (TPMS) with "second gear weighing" is a subsystem of VIMS. TPMS performs the following functions:
Calculate the information for the payload cycle
Store the information for the payload cycle
Display the information for the payload cycleIn addition to the weight of the payload, TPMS stores the following data for each payload cycle:
Start time of the cycle
Start date of the cycleNote: This data serves as a continuous data logger and can be used to indicate the truck operation when a "data logger" file does not exist. The data includes:
Loading time
Empty time
Loaded time
Loaded travel time
Empty travel distance
Loaded travel distance The onboard memory can store information for approximately 2400 payload cycles. If the register for the payload cycle becomes full, the new data for the payload cycle is written over the data of the oldest cycles. The onboard payload data can be downloaded to the service tool with VIMSpc for further analysis. After a successful download, the onboard payload data can be reset. Payload weight data can also be broadcast via a user supplied radio telemetry system. If the radio telemetry system has been enabled, the calculated payload weight will be broadcast under the following conditions:
Each detected loader pass
The truck has been shifted into second gear.
A truck has traveled "loaded" for a distance that is greater than .16 km (0.1 m).
Information about the complete cycle is also available to broadcast at the end of the payload cycle.The present load cycle is displayed on the VIMS message center. The calculated payload weight is displayed automatically during loading. Payload status lamps provide feedback to the loader operator during the loading operation. The lamps indicate whether loading should continue or the truck is fully loaded. The payload status lamps indicate under loading or over loading of the truck fleet. During the loading process, the truck operator will see the following information on the VIMS message center.

"Last pass" The operator can access various payload parameters via the "gauge" key on the keypad at any time during the load cycle. The "last pass indicator" works correctly:
