Escaping fluid under pressure, even a pinhole size leak, can penetrate body tissue, causing serious injury, and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.
Check the oil levels of the transmission, of the steering clutch and of the bevel gear case.
Check the oil level in the final drives.
Check all oil lines, hoses and connections for leaks and for damage. Look for oil on the ground under the machine.
Check these components for damage and for adjustment:
control linkages for the transmission
steering clutches
brakes
Check the adjustment of the track.
Empty the oil from the oil filter housing of the hydraulic system. Remove the filter element and check the filter element for foreign materials. Check the magnetic screen and the screen in the bottom of the engine flywheel housing.
Bronze particles give an indication of a clutch failure.
Shiny steel particles may indicate a pump failure.
Rubber particles may indicate a seal or hose failure.
Aluminum particles may indicate a torque converter failure.Wash all the components of the hydraulic system if you find metal or rubber particles. Do not use damaged parts. Use new parts.
