Schematic for the Push Button (Autodig Trigger Switch) on the JoystickThis switch has two inputs to the ECM. The input is normally open or the input is normally closed. During proper operation, one input is open and the other input is grounded. This diagnostic code is recorded when the status of both the normally open input and the normally closed input are open.Table 1 contains the wire numbers and the connector contacts. Use the table in order to troubleshoot the failed circuit.

The switch will not start the load cycle.
The switch will not start the cycle for recording.Note: The following procedure can create other related diagnostic codes. Complete the following procedure. Then clear the related diagnostic codes.Note: Ensure that the diagnostic code is active.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SWITCH.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the J1 harness connector from the ECM.
Place the switch in the OFF position (N/C).
At the switch, measure the resistance between contact 2 (wire 953-GY) and contact 7 (wire T861-18-GY). Note the resistance.
Hold the switch in the ON position (N/O).
At the switch, measure the resistance between contact 2 (wire 953-18-GY) and contact 6 (wire T860-18-PK). Note the resistance.Expected Result:The resistance should be less than 5 ohms for each measurement.Results:
YES - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. The switch is correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NO - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The switch has failed.Repair: Replace the switch. Verify that the new switch
