engine oil prelubrication system (engine prelube) is activated when the engine start key switch is turned to the START position if the following conditions exist.
The engine coolant temperature must be less than 50° C (122° F).
The engine has not been started within the previous 120 seconds.Follow these steps to start the engine.
Move the transmission direction control lever to the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Move the attachment control levers to the HOLD position.
Turn the engine lockout switch to the ON position.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
Turn the engine start key switch to the START position and hold in the START position for the duration of the prelube cycle. The engine prelube system is now activated. The engine prelube motor will run until either the oil pressure is 15 kPa (2 psi), or the engine prelube motor has run for 30 seconds. The system will automatically start the engine.
When the engine starts, release the engine start key switch. Note: Engine prelube can be overridden for quicker starts (prelube quick start override). This action occurs by turning the engine start key switch from the START position to the OFF position. Then, immediately turn the engine start key switch back to the START position. When the engine prelubrication system override is used, an event is logged within the machine ECM. Note: If the engine prelube motor is unable to generate 15 kPa (2 psi) pressure within the 45 second cycle time, an event will be logged within the machine ECM.
