Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct draining procedure.

Separate seal (1) from turbocharger (5).
Remove the seal and tube assembly (6).
Disconnect tube assemblies (2), tube assembly (3), tube assembly (4), and tube assembly (7). Separate the seal from tube assembly (8). Discard the seals.

Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (5). The weight of turbocharger (5) is approximately 32 kg (71 lb).
Remove nuts (9). Remove turbocharger (5) and the gasket.
Repeat the procedure on the other turbocharger.
