Note: If the paver is equipped with mechanical extensions of 8 m, order double the quantity.
Move the mechanical extension to a smooth surface.

Remove extension covers (A) and (B) .
Remove the old tamper bar with the heaters.

Remove two chimneys (C) from each extension frame.

Weld two 339-1658 Support Plates (2) on the main screed frame. Repeat this process for the other screed frame.ReferenceRefer to Special Instruction, REHS1841, "General Welding Procedures".

Put 257-8023 Thermal Grease (12) between 339-1674 Tamper Bar (4) and 339-1669 Tamper Bar Heater As . Use 8T-7547 Bolt (10), 8T-0225 Belleville Washer (8), and 5P-4116 Hard Washer (7) to fasten the heater to the bars. Repeat this procedure for the other extender.

Install tamper bar (4) and on support assembly (D) using 3 9X-8257 Washers (11) and 3 8T-4779 Bolts (9). Apply Loctite 270 on each bolt. Use the same procedure in order to install tamper bar (5) to the other support assembly.

Route the harness as shown in Illustration 20, and 21 for each end of the extender. Use two 1G-8781 Clamps (1) and two 3T-0849 Bolts (6) at each location.
