Use the following procedure to install the turbocharger impeller (1) . This procedure should be done at room temperature.
Install the impeller on the shaft.
Tighten the nut to 31 2 N m (275 18 lb in).Note: Do not bend the shaft, or add stress to the shaft when the nut is loosened or tightened.
Remove the nut.
Apply 169-5464 Quick Cure Primer to the threads of the shaft and the nut.
Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of the shaft and the nut.
Tighten the nut to 5 N m (45 lb in).
Again, tighten the nut to an additional 120 degrees. (2) Torque for the bolts that hold the back plate ... 10.2 to 13.6 N m (90 to 120 lb in)Use the following procedure to tighten the clamp bolts (3) :
Lightly hit around the entire area of the clamp with a soft faced hammer.
Tighten the clamp bolts to 13.55 1.15 N m (120 10 lb in).
