Propel control operationThe direction of machine travel is determined by the direction switch. If the switch is pressed to the forward position, the machine will move in the forward direction. If the switch is pressed to the reverse position, the machine will move in the reverse direction and the backup alarm is turned ON. The travel direction of the machine is sent on the Cat data link to the CMS which displays the information on the display of the gear indicator. The ECM will supply current to the forward solenoid valve or the reverse solenoid valve according to the selected travel direction. The propel lever will modulate the machine speed in the neutral position to the maximum machine speed at the maximum lever position of the propel. The ECM will supply current to the proper solenoid according to the direction that is determined from the direction switch.When the parking brake switch is applied, the propulsion is stopped. The propelling of the machine will not occur when the parking brake switch is in the ON position. If the parking brake switch is moved to the released position, the propel needs to be reset to Neutral before propulsion is enabled.
