Clearance between the ends of the top piston ring is 0.40 0.05 mm (0.016 0.002 inch).
Thickness of new top piston ring is 3.845 mm (0.1514 inch).
2 1 238-2707 Piston Ring Install the intermediate piston ring with the side marked "UP-2" toward the top of the piston. Orient the colored faces to the right of the end gaps of the piston ring.
Clearance between the ends of the intermediate piston ring is 0.600 0.125 mm (0.0236 0.0050 inch).
Thickness of new intermediate piston ring is 2.94 mm (0.116 inch).
3 1 340-3639 Piston Ring The spring ends of the oil control ring should be placed 180 degrees from the ring end gap. The colored stripe in the spring coil must be visible at the ring end gap.
Clearance between the groove and the new oil control piston ring is 0.45 0.15 mm (0.018 0.006 inch).
Thickness of new oil control piston ring is 2.970 0.010 mm (0.1170 0.0004 inch).
Width in the piston body for piston ring is 3.020 0.010 mm (0.1190 0.0004 inch) .
4 1 524-5565 Piston Pin Thoroughly lubricate the piston pin with clean engine oil before the piston pin is inserted into the piston body assembly and the rod assembly.
Outside diameter of the new piston pin is 59.975 0.005 mm (2.3612 0.0002 inch).
Inside diameter of the new piston pin is 25.1 to 25.7 N.m (222.2 to 227.5 lb in).
Length of the new piston pin is 89.8 0.2 N.m (66.2 0.1 lb ft).
Bore in the new piston body assembly for the piston pin is 60.125 0.005 mm (2.3671 0.0002 inch).
5 2 250-2940 Pin Retainer Install the retainer ring with the opening towards top of the piston.
6 1 150-1156 Special Bolt Torque to 25 6 N m (221 53 lb in).
Thoroughly lubricate the entire piston in zone (A) with clean engine oil prior to assembly into the cylinder block.
After the piston rings have been installed, rotate the piston rings so that the end gaps are placed at 120 degrees distance from each other.
