2. Disconnect electrical wiring harness (4) from lockup clutch and synchronizing valve (1).3. Disconnect hose assembly (3) from lockup clutch and synchronizing valve (1).4. Remove four bolts (2) and lockup clutch and synchronizing valve (1) from the transmission housing.5. Remove the five O-ring seals from lockup clutch and synchronizing valve (1). The following steps are for installation of the lockup clutch and synchronizing valve. 6. Install the five O-ring seals in the bottom of lockup clutch and synchronizing valve (1).7. Put lockup clutch and synchronizing valve (1) in position on the transmission housing, and install four bolts (2).8. Connect hose assembly (3) to lockup clutch and synchronizing valve (1).9. Connect electrical wiring harness (4) to lockup clutch and synchronizing valve (1).10. Fasten a hoist, and install the hood over the transmission.Disassemble & Assemble Lock-Up Clutch & Synchronizing Valve
Start By:a. remove lock-up clutch and synchronizing valve 1. Remove the five O-ring seals from the mounting surface of valve body (1). Check the condition of the O-ring seals. If the seals are damaged or worn, use new parts for replacements.2. Remove bolts (14), the washers, and remove cover (13). Remove bolts (17), the washers, and cover (18). Check the condition of O-ring seals (16) and (19) in the two covers. If the seals are damaged or worn, use new parts for replacements.3. Remove lock-up clutch valve spool (12) and spring (15). Remove synchronizing valve spool (9), spacers (10) and spring (8).4. Remove the plugs and seals (11). Remove bolts (2), and remove valve (6) and cover assembly (3) as a unit. Check the condition of the O-ring seals in the cover assembly. If the seals are damaged or worn, use a new parts for replacement.5. Remove tube assembly (7). Remove bolts (5), and remove valve (6). Check the condition of O-ring seals (4) in the valve. If the seals are damaged or worn, use new parts for replacements. The following steps are for the assembly of the lock-up clutch and synchronizing valve.6. Make sure all the parts of the valve are clean and free of dirt and foreign material before the valve is assembled. Put clean oil on the parts of the valve.7. Make certain the O-ring seals are in position in valve (6). Install valve (6) with bolts (5). Install tube assembly (7).8. Install the O-ring seals in cover assembly (3). Install the cover assembly and valve (6) as a unit with bolts (2). Install the seals and plugs (11).9. Install spacers (10), spring (8), and synchronizing valve spool (9). Install spring (15) and lock-up clutch valve spool (12).10. Install O-ring seals (16) and (19) in covers (13) and (18). Install cover (18) with bolts (17) and the washers. Install cover (13) with bolts (14) and the washers.11.
