(3) Bus bar/Ring terminal
(4) Power stud
Ensure a 4B-4277 Washer is placed between the nut and the bus bar/ring terminal. Use the hardware stack-up shown in Illustration 1 as a reference.
During reassembly hand tighten everything prior to torque, if loose connections are found. This is to ensure proper alignment of the bus bars/ring terminals with relay studs. This will help lessen any binding, stress, or misalignment.Note: 2 degrees of stud rotation is acceptable. This may be perceived as "wiggle", but as long as the stud moves with the attached ring terminal, it is not considered to be a loose bolted joint.Note: For machines that use bus bars, ensure that the vinyl coating on the bus bars is not part of the bolted joint. If it is cutoff the portion that interferes with the joint.
For the 241-8368 Magnetic Switch Gp (MAIN POWER RELAY), torque the relay studs to the recommended 9 0.5 N m (80 4.4 lb in).
Ensure that the cables attached to the relay studs are supported. There should be no opportunity for movement to be transferred to the electrical connection.
The 241-8368 Magnetic Switch Gp (MAIN POWER RELAY) pigtail wire and connector should not be tied to the relay housing. The relay housing gets hot and may deteriorate the wire and connector prematurely.
