Apply Loctite 5900 on the edge of piston motor (20) .Note: Piston motor (20) must be installed within three minute for an effective seal.Note: If you are replacing the studs, clean the mating surfaces, and apply Loctite 5127 or 1U-8846 Sealant to the flange of the stud.

Use a suitable lifting device to support the piston motor in place.
Use care in placing piston motor (20) in position so that the studs are not damaged. Weight of the piston motor is 47 kg (104 lb).
Install eight nuts (19) . Tighten the nuts according to the pattern in Illustration 4. Tighten the nuts.

Connect lines (14) , (15) , (16) , (17) , and (18) .

Install spacer (13) onto the shaft of the piston motor. The spacer must be to the inside of the sprockets.Note: The chamfered side of the spacer must face toward the piston motor.
Place drive chain assembly (12) on inner sprocket (11) .
Install the inner sprocket (11) onto the shaft.
Place drive chain assembly (10) on outer sprocket (9) .
Install the outer sprocket (9) onto the shaft.
Install hard washer (8) and bolt (7) . Tighten the bolt.

The slack side of the drive chain is the top. The taut side of the chain is the bottom.

Place Tooling (A) between axle assemblies (6) .
Adjust Tooling (A) in order to achieve the proper tightness of the drive chain assembly.
Adjust the drive chain assembly to 10 - 15 mm (0.4 - 0.6 inch) of free movement on the slack side above the sprockets.Note: The Drive chain assemblies must be taut below the sprockets when you are measuring the amount of movement in the drive chain assemblies.
Leave Tooling (A) in position.
Tighten eight nuts (5) to 50 15 N m (37 11 lb ft) in the pattern that is shown in illustration 10.
Check the proper tightness of the drive chains again.
Torque all nuts again to 50 15 N m (37 11 lb ft) and turn an additional 90 5° in the same order. Use the pattern that is used in illustration 10.
Repeat Steps 15 through 20 in order to tighten the drive chain on the opposite axle assembly.

Clean the mating surfaces of the tandem drive and the cover.
Apply a bead of Loctite 5900 around the access hole in tandem housing (4) . The sealant must be applied in a 0.3 cm (0.12 inch) to 0.4 cm (0.16 inch) wide continuous bead. Apply the sealant in order to cover the bolt holes.
Place cover (3) in position.
Install washers and ten bolts (2) . Tighten the bolts.
Remove magnetic plug (1) .
Refill the hydraulic oil into the tandem housing. Apply Loctite 7649 prior to the pipe sealant. Apply Loctite 536 on the threads of magnetic plug (1) . Install magnetic plug (1) to the tandem housing.
Install the drive chain tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7468, "Drive Chain Tension - Check/Adjust", Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7468, "Refill Capacities" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7468,
