Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies to prevent fluid loss, and keep contaminants from entering the system.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

Remove clamps (3) and bolts (1). Remove tube (2).

Remove clamps (5) and remove hose (4). Remove bolt (6).

Remove tube assembly (8) and nuts (7). Remove fuel cooler (9).Installation Procedure
Install fuel cooler (9) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten tube assembly (8) to a torque of 40 4 N m (30 3 lb ft).
Tighten nuts (7) to a torque of 25 3 N m (221 27 lb in).
Tighten bolt (6) to a torque of 25 3 N m (221 27 lb in).
Tighten clamps (5) to a torque of 3.25 0.25 N m (29 2 lb in).
Tighten clamps (3) to a torque of 3.25 0.25 N m (29 2 lb in).
Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 34 3 N m (25 2 lb ft).
