GASKET-OIL COOLER 1131889 - Caterpillar

Start By:
Remove the underspeed valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Underspeed Valve - Remove".

Remove bolts (2) and valve group (1) from the underspeed valve assembly.

Use Tool (B) to partially compress the spring. Remove bolts (3) and guide (4). Remove Tool (B) .

Remove plug (5) and the tee from the valve.

Note: If necessary, remove some metal from Tool (A) with a small grinder so retainers (6) can be removed.
Use Tool (A) and a press to put spring (7) under compression so retainers (6) can be removed. Remove retainers (6). Carefully release the tension on spring (7). Remove Tool (A) and a spring (7) from the valve group.

Remove nut (8), shaft (10) and retainers (12) from the valve group.
Remove washers (11) and bearings (9) from the shaft.

Remove bolt (13), the retainer, the spring and the spacer. Remove tube (14) and O-ring seal (15) .

Remove ring (16), lever assembly (18) and the washer from the shaft.
Remove the nut and bolt (17). Remove bolts (19). Also, remove the bracket and lever assembly (20) .

Remove ring (22), rod (23) and the gasket from the lever. Remove bearings (21) from the lever only if a replacement is necessary.

Use a press and remove pin (25) from the bracket. Remove the bearing from the lever (24) .

Remove snap ring (28) and washer (27) from the shaft. Remove lever assembly (26) .

Remove O-ring seal (29) from the bracket. Remove seal (30) and bearings (31) from the bracket only if a replacement is necessary.

Hold the spring under compression, and remove retainers (32). Remove the spring,retainer (33) and pin (34). Remove the other stop from the lever in the same way.
