GASKET KIT 1294909 - Caterpillar

Removal Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Disconnect tube assembly (1) .

Disconnect harness assembly (2). Remove nut (3). Disconnect hose assembly (4) and position hose assembly (4) out of the way. Remove bolts (5). Position air inlet elbow (6) and spacer (7) out of the way.

Remove nut (8) in order to disconnect harness assembly (9). Remove bolts (10) in order to position bracket (11) out of the way.

Loosen nuts (12) in order to remove air inlet heater (13) .

Remove bolts (14). Remove air inlet cover (15) .Installation Procedure

Position air inlet cover (15) on the engine. Install bolts (14) .

Install air inlet heater (13). Install bolts (12) .

Position bracket (11) and install bolts (10). Connect harness assembly (9). Install nut (8) .

Apply Tooling (A) to the mounting surfaces of spacer (7) and air inlet elbow (6). Position spacer (7) and air inlet elbow (6) onto the engine and install bolts (5). Connect hose assembly (4). Install nut (3). Connect harness assembly (2) .

Connect tube assembly (1) .
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
