(3) PlateShift valve (1) is in the pump compartment, on the left side of the machine. The door on the left side of the machine provides access to this component.Shift solenoid (2) is on shift valve (1). When the shift solenoid is energized, the machine operates in the travel-speed range.Note: The parking brake valve and the brake release manifold are mounted to the inboard side of plate (3) in this compartment. These components can be accessed through the pump compartment or through the door at the front of the operator station. Refer to the next illustration for details about these components.

(10) Brake pressure switchBrake release manifold (5) and parking brake valve (8) are in the engine compartment. The door at the front of the operator platform provides access to these components.Brake release manifold (4) contains hand pump (5), needle valve (6), brake pressure switch (10), and pressure tap (7). When the needle valve is closed, the hand pump can be used to release the parking brakes manually.Brake pressure switch (10) provides an input signal to the machine electronic control system. The brake release pressure can be measured at brake pressure tap (9) in port "B1" of the manifold.

(15) Quick couplerLeft track tension manifold (12) is on the left side of the machine. The door on the left side of the machine provides access to this component. The right track tension manifold is on the right side of the machine, in the same general location. The right and left track tension manifolds are identical.Tap (13), needle valve (11), and quick coupler (5) are used to service the hydraulic pressure in the track tension system.Track tension pressure switch (14) is installed in each track tension manifold (12). The machine electronic control system uses input signals from the track tension pressure switches to alert the operator if track tension is too low. Low track tension pressure generates a level-three fault.

(16) Track tension accumulatorEach side of the machine is equipped with track tension accumulator (16). The accumulator is mounted in the same general location on both sides of the machine. The left accumulator is shown in the above illustration.One side of the track tension accumulator (16) is precharged with nitrogen. The other side of the accumulator is charged with supply oil from the auxiliary hydraulic pump. Hydraulic pressure in the track tension accumulator provides pressure to the tension cylinder.

(18) Purge tapEach side of the machine is equipped with track tension cylinder (17). The tension cylinder is mounted between the track frame and the front idler.The pressure in the tension cylinders provides the force that maintains the belt tension. Track tension cylinder (17) has purge tap (18). The purge tap
