Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that the crankshaft in NOT rotated while the front housing is removed.

If necessary, Install O ring seal (15) to front housing (9). Install plate (16) and bolt (17) to from front housing (9), hand tight only.

Ensure that the assembly of front housing (9) and the nose of the crankshaft are clean and free from damage. Ensure that the gasket surfaces on the front housing (9) and the plate (20) are clean and free from damage.
Install Tooling (A) on the nose of the crankshaft.
Install a new gasket (12) to plate (20).
Align pin (14) with Hole (X) in oil pump cover (19). Ensure that the oil pump cover is concentric to idler gear assembly (18).
Align front housing (9) to the dowels (13) in plate (20). Install front housing (9) to plate (20).
Install bolts (10) hand tight. Install nuts (8) hand tight.
Install dipstick tube assembly (4) and bracket (6). Install bolts (7) hand tight.
Install bolt (5) and tighten to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in)
Install bolt (3) complete with harness (1) and clip (2) hand tight only.
Tighten nuts (8), bolts (10) and bolts (7) to a torque of 10 N m (89 lb in)
Tighten bolts (17) and (3) to a torque of 26 N m (230 lb in)
Remove Tooling (A) from the nose of the crankshaft. End By:
Install the crankshaft pulley. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Pulley - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Install the secondary speed/timing sensor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Secondary Engine Speed/Timing Sensor - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
