Refer to SEBU6415, the 3406B and 3406C Generator Set Engine Operation & Maintenance Manual, for basic engine start/stop/operation procedures.Perform these checks before operating the engine and generator.
Typical fuel gauge, located in the base inside of the enclosure.* Check the fuel level. The fuel tank capacity of the XQ350 Rental Generator Set is 758 L (200 US gal). The full load maximum fuel consumption for the XQ350 Rental Generator Set is approximately 100.8 L/hour (26.6 US gal/hour). Refer to SEBU6415, 3406B and 3406C Generator Set Engine Operation & Maintenance Manual, for the proper lubrication oil and for the proper coolant.
Oil filler cap (1), oil level gauge (dipstick) (2), and coolant filler cap (3). * Check the oil level with the engine stopped. The oil level should be between the ADD and FULL marks on the ENGINE STOPPED side of the dipstick. If necessary, remove the oil filler cap and add oil. Ensure that the oil level is not above the FULL mark. Clean the oil filler cap. Clean the cap receptacle. Install the cap.* Check the coolant level with the engine stopped and cool. Remove the coolant filler cap slowly to relieve any pressure. Maintain the coolant level within 13 mm (1/2 inch) below the bottom of the fill pipe. Clean the coolant filler cap. Inspect the cap. Replace the cap if the gaskets are damaged. Clean the coolant filler cap receptacle. Install the cap.Load Connection Procedure
Distribution Panels
Dual voltage distribution panel (1) and single voltage distribution panel (2).The dual voltage distribution panel (240V or 480V) is equipped with a main circuit breaker that has an adjustable trip unit. This panel is equipped with a voltage changeover link board. The voltage use must be determined and the link board must be positioned for the desired voltage before the load is connected.The single voltage distribution panel (600V) is equipped with a single voltage main circuit breaker and a single voltage main load connection.Dual Voltage Distribution Panel- Change Voltage
To change voltage on the dual voltage distribution panel, perform the following steps:1. Ensure that the generator set is not operating. Place the main circuit breaker handle to the OFF position.
Link board (1), rotary trip adjustment switches (2).2. Remove the clear plastic shield which covers the buss bars and the link board. Place the link board in the HIGH position (480V) or in the LOW position (240V).
Do not adjust the circuit breaker trip unit while the generator set is operating. This can result in damage to the circuit breaker trip unit.
3. Remove the clear plastic shield on the main circuit breaker which covers the rotary trip adjustment switches. Use a small screwdriver to adjust the rotary trip adjustment switches to the correct amperage setting: * HIGH - 500 Amp* LOW - 1000 Amp4. Install the clear plastic shield to cover the rotary trip adjustment switches. Proceed with the load connection.Load Connection
