Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the exhaust elbow. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install (Exhaust Elbow between the Turbocharger and the Clean Emissions Module (CEM))" for the correct procedure.

Loosen hose clamp (2) and hose clamp (5) for hose assembly (3).
Remove hose assembly (3) from the inlet of turbocharger (4) and inlet tube assembly (1).

Remove bolts (13) and bolts (16) from tube assembly (14).
Remove tube assembly (14) from turbocharger (4) and the cylinder block.
Remove gasket (12) (not shown) and gasket (15) (not shown).
Remove banjo bolt (9) and sealing washers (10) (not shown) from tube assembly (8).
Remove bolts (18) and position breather assembly (17) away from bracket (20).
Position harness assembly (19) away from tube assembly (8).
Remove the bolts for bracket (22) and bracket (23).
Remove bolts (24) and gasket (25) (not shown) from tube assembly (8).
Remove bolt (21A) and remove engine lifting bracket (21).
Remove tube assembly (8).
Apply releasing fluid prior to and during the removal of nuts (6). Remove the nuts from turbocharger (4). Support the weight of the turbocharger as the nuts are removed.
Remove turbocharger (4) from the exhaust manifold.Note: Do not use the actuator rod to lift the turbocharger.
Remove gasket (7) (not shown).
If necessary, remove studs (11) from the turbocharger.
If necessary, remove the studs from the exhaust manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Manifold - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
