Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Use Tooling (A), chains, and a suitable lifting device to position frame assembly (8) on radiator core (12). The weight of the frame assembly is approximately 44 kg (95 lb).
Install the bolts that secure frame assembly (8) to radiator core (12) .

Raise radiator (7) to the upright position. The weight of the radiator is approximately 107 kg (235 lb).
Install shroud assembly (10) with bolts (11) .

Position radiator (7) in the machine for installation.

Secure the bottom of the radiator with bolts (9) .

Return the engine radiator braces to both sides of the shroud assembly and install bolts (6) .
Remove Tooling (A) and the chains from frame assembly (8) .

Secure lower radiator hose (4) with clamp (5) to the shroud assembly.

Connect radiator hose (4) and tighten hose clamp (3) .

Connect the upper radiator hose and tighten hose clamp (2) .
Connect overflow hose (1) with the hose clamp.
Fill the cooling system. The capacity of the cooling system is approximately 35 L (9.2 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Caterpillar Extended Life Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the machine that is being serviced. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the machine that is being serviced.End By:
Install the aftercooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler - Remove and Install".
Install the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan - Remove and Install".
Install the fan guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Guard - Remove and Install".
Install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
