Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Remove the air cleaners.

Remove hose assembly (1) and tube assembly (2).
Remove the water tube assemblies, if necessary.

Remove the bolts and elbow (3). Remove the O-ring seals from the elbow.
Loosen clamp (4). Slide the clamp and the bellows assembly away from turbocharger (5).
Loosen clamp (6). Remove the hose from turbocharger (5).
Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (5). The weight of turbocharger (5) is approximately 40 kg (88 lb).
Remove the bolts that attach turbocharger (5) to the exhaust manifold. Remove turbocharger (5) and the gasket.
