Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Raise the hood by activating the switch. Turn off the disconnect switch after the hood has been raised.
Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Disconnect hose assembly (2).
Attach a suitable lifting device to muffler (1). The weight of muffler (1) is approximately 45 kg (99 lb).
Remove nuts (4) and bolts (3).
Remove muffler (1).Installation Procedure
Install muffler (1) in the reverse order of the removal.
Tighten the clamp to a torque of 55 8 N m (41 6 lb ft) for hose (2).
