The switches are located in the left foot pedal housing. One switch is used to actuate the stop lamps, while the other switch is used to neutralize the transmission.
The switch adjustment to actuate the neutralizer function on machines shipped from the factory is acceptable for most applications. However, in applications where the neutralizer function is heavily used, as is a machine on an incline, the neutralizer function may actuate too early during the brake pedal stroke. This could cause the machine to jerk excessively. The jerking motion is due to the machine trying to neutralize while at the same time, engage the transmission.
In the appropriate Brake System Specification Service Manual Module for these machines, a typical dimension of 6.0 mm (.24 in) is used to adjust the neutralizer switch. This dimension can be increased or decreased to adjust to a particular application. A higher setting will delay the neutralizing function and eliminate the jerking motion.
