2. Disconnect heater hose (2).3. Loosen hose clamps on inlet and outlet water pipes.4. Remove two bolts (1) from water elbow.5. Remove left side of fan guard.6. Remove two bolts from water pump and remove water pump and elbow as a unit.7. Remove elbow from water pump.Install Water Pump
1. Install elbow on water pump. 2. Put water pump (1) in position on engine and install bolts.3. Put the hoses in position and tighten the clamps.4. Connect heater hose to water elbow.5. Install left side of fan guard.6. Fill the cooling system to the correct level.7. Start engine and check for leaks.Disassemble Water Pump
start by: a) remove water pump 1. Remove bolts (1) and cover (2) from the housing.2. Loosen bolt in the impeller .25 in. (6.35 mm). Hit the bolt with a soft hammer to remove the impeller from the shaft. 3. Remove the bolt, impeller (4), spring (3), and seal. 4. Turn the housing over and remove bolt (5) from the gear.5. Remove gear (7) and bearing from the housing.6. Remove bearing (6) from gear. 7. Remove snap ring (8). Remove bearing and shaft.8. Remove bearing from shaft.9. Remove lip seal from housing.Assemble Water Pump
1. Install lip seal in water pump housing with tooling (A). The lip of seal must be toward the bearings. Put clean SAE 30 engine oil on lip of seal. 2. Install bearing (2) on shaft (1).3. Install shaft and bearing in housing. Install snap ring to hold bearing in place.4. Install bearing on gear. Install gear in the housing.5. Install bolt to hold gears in place. 6. Install seal and ring (3) in the housing.7. Install seal (4) and spring on the shaft. 8. Install impeller (6) and bolt (5). Tighten bolt to a torque of 28 1 lb.ft. (3.9 0.14 mkg).end by: a) install water pump
