Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the gas pressure regulator.
Remove the carburetor.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (3).
Remove tube assembly (2), the adapter, the gasket, and the O-ring seal from aftercooler (1).

Remove bolts (4).
Disconnect elbow assembly (5) from aftercooler (1).
Remove the adapter, the gasket, and the O-ring seal from aftercooler (1).
Disconnect the harness assembly and remove inlet manifold temperature sensor (6) from aftercooler (1).

Remove bolts (8), aftercooler cover (9), and the gasket.
Remove the aftercooler core and the gasket.
Remove bolts (7), bolts (11), aftercooler housing (10), and the gaskets.
