Typical example (1) Shutoff Valve AssemblyThe shutoff valve assembly controls the flow of coolant to the engine block from the jacket water heater gp. The shutoff valve assemblies are located on the left and right sides of the engine.Use the following torque sequence in order to help eliminate cracking of the 112-4036 Shutoff Valve Assembly.
Tighten the external threads of the fitting into the internal threads of the shutoff valve assembly by hand.
Tighten the shutoff valve assembly, with a wrench an additional 2 revolutions, if the fitting is up to 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) in diameter. Tighten the shutoff valve assembly, with a wrench an additional 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 revolutions, if the fitting is larger than 12.7 mm (1/2 inch). Note: Use 50 percent of the required standard torque if the adapter, plug, or port materials is nonferrous.
