Reference: Special Instruction, REHS0591, "Reinforcing Stick Assemblies"This special instruction outlines the basic procedures that are used to reinforce stick assemblies. The stick assemblies are repaired by welding reinforcement plates to the sticks. The reinforcement plates are welded to side plates, upper plates and lower plates of the stick. The sticks may be repaired by rewelding at the corner of the baffle plates. Instructions for making the reinforcement plates are included in this publication. Reinforcement plates for various loading conditions are covered in this Special Instruction. The plates may also be used to protect the stick from wear due to abrasive applications. The reinforcement procedures in this publication are applicable to any of the machines that follow: 320 and 320B Excavators with M2.4C, R2.5B and R2.92B sticks and 325 and 325B Excavators with M2.5D, R2.65C and R3.2C sticks.The special instruction can be obtained through the normal literature ordering channels.
