Schematic of the Swing Left circuitThis diagnostic code is associated with the swing left solenoid. The FMI 05 means that the machine ECM determined that the current is below normal. The possible causes of this failure are listed below:
The solenoid energizer circuit is open.
The solenoid has failed.
The return circuit of the solenoid is open.
The machine ECM has failed. This is unlikely. When this failure occurs, a warning is displayed on the message center and the machine ECM disables the circuit. Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear these diagnostic codes when the original failure has been corrected.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. DO NOT start the engine.
Disconnect the suspect solenoid from the machine harness.
At the machine harness connector for the solenoid, place a jumper between contact 1 (wire K932-BU) and contact 2 (wire M933-PU).
Observe the message center. The diagnostic information may also be viewed with the ET. Expected Result:The diagnostic code alternates between the active status and the inactive status as the jumper is installed and the jumper is removed. The VIDS message center may take several seconds before the diagnostic information is updated. This is normal. Results:
