Connections of the seat sensor
This diagnostic code is associated with the operator presence sensor in the seat. The FMI 02 is recorded the signal is erratic, intermittent, or incorrect.The output of the sensor signals varies between 0 to 5 VDC. The voltage of the sensor signal is dependent on the presence of an operator in the seat. The ECM will monitor the sensor signal in order to determine the presence of an operator.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The sensor is not mounted properly or the mount is loose.
An open circuit exists in the sensor signal circuit.
A short circuit exists in the sensor signal circuit.
The sensor has failed.
The ECM has failed. An ECM failure is unlikely.

Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Ensure that the diagnostic code is active.
Observe the status of the diagnostic code. Disconnect the 2-pin connector from the machine harness for the seat. Expected Result:The FMI 02 remains active. The code has not changed and the code is still active.Results:
YES - The diagnostic code remains active. The sensor is correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NO - The diagnostic code is no longer active. The sensor has failed.Repair: Replace the sensor.STOPTest Step 2. Check the mount of the sensor in the seatA proper mount for the sensor is critical for correct operation of the sensor.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
At the sensor, check the condition of the seat. The sensor must be mounted properly and the connector must be secure. Expected Result:The seat is in good condition and the connector for the sensor is secure.Results:
YES - The seat is in good condition and the connector for the sensor is secure. There does not appear to be a problem with the sensor or the seat. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The seat is in poor condition and the connector for the sensor is loose. Replace the seat. Verify that the new seat has corrected the problem. Proceed to Test Step 3.Test Step 3. Check the circuit for an openThe disconnect switch and the key start switch remain in the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the sensor.
Disconnect the J1 and J2 machine harness connectors from the ECM.
At the machine harness connector for the seat, connect a jumper wire between contact "1" wire (U767-BU(Blue)) and contact "2" wire (L740-BR(Brown)).
At the machine harness connectors for the ECM, measure the resistance between contact J1-53 wire (U767-BU(Blue))
