Locate the scraper mounting plate. The mounting plate should be centered with the idler. The mounting plate should be located with a minimum of clearance from the outside diameter of the idler.
Rotate the idler. There should be no interference between the mounting plate and the idler.
If interference exists between the mounting plate and the idler, grind the mounting plate in order to allow a minimum clearance.
Remove the paint from the welding area.
Tack weld the scraper mounting plate in place.
Remove the idler assembly and the bearing blocks.
Use 50 mm (2 inch) skip welds in order to weld the scraper mounting plate to the track roller frame.
If necessary, clean the area under the bearing blocks.

Note: If the track rollers or the track links are more than 40 percent worn, do not install shims on the track roller frame. Refer to Custom Track Service, PEKP9400 for the procedure to evaluate the undercarriage on the machine.
Install one shim (16) on each dowel pin.Note: If the machine is a D7R, install 12 mm shims on the front of the track roller frame and install 4 mm shims on the rear of the track roller frame.
Apply 4C-5593 Anti-Seize Compound to the dowel pin hole on each bearing block (4) .
Install one bearing block (4) on each dowel pin.Note: Do not use the 532-075 lifting tongs in order to lift the center tread idler. Use two nylon straps in order to lift the center tread idler.
Install the idler assembly (10) .
Install the bearing caps (11). Align the holes in the idler shaft with the spring pins on the bearing caps (11) .
Apply 4C-5593 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads on the four bolts (12) .
Install two bolts (12) in both bearing caps (11) .

Note: Tighten the bolt on the abutment side first. "Tighten first" is stamped on the cap assembly. See Illustration 13.
Tighten the four bolts to the specified torque. See Table 17 for the correct torque specifications.

Install the scrapers (17) with a minimum clearance between the scraper (17) and the idler.
Rotate the center tread idler by one full revolution. The idler should rotate freely. If the idler does not rotate freely, adjust the scrapers (17) in order to eliminate the interference. Tighten the bolts on the scrapers.
Repeat Step 5 through Step 32 for the three remaining idlers.
