Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Lubricate pushrods (6) with clean engine oil. Install pushrods (6) in the cylinder head.Note: Ensure that the pushrods are installed correctly in the socket of the valve lifters.
Install caps (5) on the top of the valve stems.
Install O-ring seal (9) on base (8) .
Install rocker shaft assembly (4) and base (8) for the valve mechanism cover on cylinder head (7) .Note: Lubricate nuts (2) with clean engine oil before installation.
Install bolts (1) and nuts (2) finger tight.Note: Ensure that the ends of the adjusting screws on each rocker arm are properly seated in the ends of pushrods (6) .
Tighten bolts (1) on each end of the base (8) for the valve mechanism cover.
The nut tightening sequence moves from the center of the rocker shaft outward. Tighten nuts (1) and bolts (2) evenly to a torque of 33 N m (24 lb ft).
Adjust the valve lash. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Valve Lash - Inspect/Adjust" for the correct procedure to adjust the valve lash.
The torque for adjusting screws (3) is 14 N m (10 lb ft).End By: Install the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install".
