1 1 292-5982 Face Seal Gp Before assembly, lightly lubricate the bore with 5P-3975 Rubber Lubricant.
Use the 8T-3034 Water Pump Seal Driver and hand pressure in order to install the water seal (2) and the ring together in the pump housing bore. Ensure that the polished face of the ring is toward the groove of the seal assembly.
Before assembly, remove the spring from the seal.
Put clean water on the seal assembly as the only lubrication for assembly. Do not get any grease or oil on the seal faces.
Do not stretch the rubber of the seal assembly at installation. If the seal is stretched, the service life is shortened.
Use the 8T-3034 Water Pump Seal Driver and hand pressure to install the seal assembly on the pump shaft until the seal face makes light contact with the smooth face of the ring.
The seal assembly must rotate with the water pump shaft. Do not use any lubricant (except clean water) that will reduce the friction between the seal and the shaft.
Install the carbon seal assembly spring.
3 1 134-5958 O-Ring Seal Before assembly, lightly lubricate the bore with 5P-3975 Rubber Lubricant.
4 1 6V-7701 O-Ring Seal Before assembly, lightly lubricate the bore with 5P-3975 Rubber Lubricant.
A - - Diameter of the shaft at the seat area of the carbon seal assembly is 44.45 0.02 mm (1.750 0.001 inch).
B - - Diameter of the impeller shaft at the location of the lip type seal is 49.20 0.20 mm (1.937 0.008 inch).
C - - Diameter of impeller shaft is 64.85 0.02 mm (2.553 0.001 inch).
D - - Diameter of the impeller shaft at the support end is 88.878 0.013 mm (3.4991 0.0005 inch).
E 1 1W-2828 Thrust Washer Thickness is 11.75 0.15 mm (0.463 0.006 inch).
Width of groove in the impeller shaft is 12.00 0.05 mm (0.472 0.002 inch).
End play for impeller shaft is 0.05 to 0.25 mm (0.002 to 0.009 inch).
