PROBLEM
The bolts that secure the carrier roller stand to the track roller frame can fail on certain D5K Track-Type Tractors. If the existing bolt fails, the carrier roller stand can fall off the machine.

ACTION REQUIRED
Evaluate the condition of mounting bolts on each carrier roller stand. If any bolts are loose, missing, or broken, perform an After Failure repair on that side of the machine. If all four mounting bolts are tight, perform a Before Failure repair on that side of the machine.
Before Failure: Remove each of the four carrier roller post mount bolts and washers one at a time. Replace with thicker washer and higher strength bolt. Tighten to a specified torque of 105 N.m +/- 20 N.m.
After Failure: Remove the remaining mounting hardware from the carrier roller stand. Clean the mounting surfaces on the track roller frame and carrier roller stand using a wire brush. Install new 8T-7971 Hard Washers and new 319-6699 Hex Head Bolts. Tighten to a specified torque of 105 N.m +/- 20 N.m.
