Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
The low-pressure fuel line needs to be replaced on the products listed. The existing low-pressure fuel line can shed debris, causing high injector leakoff and in some instances failure to start. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 25Apr2011 when scheduling this service.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause you, but urge you to have this service performed as soon as possible to prevent unscheduled downtime.

Rework Procedure
Refer to Disassembly and Assembly manual KENR6081 as necessary.
Replacement of low-pressure tube.
1. Replace the existing tube with the new 356-8335 Tube (1), fitted between the final filter and fuel injection pump.
2. Check connections are leak free.

3. Perform an injector leakoff test to verify injector performance. Refer to Special Instruction KENR6938. Record the leakoff rate within the claim story.
- If the amount collected is less than the limit, end test. No further action is required.
- If amount collected is greater than the limit, install a new set of fuel injectors, high-pressure fuel tubes, fuel pressure sensor, and fuel rail.
Replacement of high-pressure tubes, injectors, fuel pressure sensor, and fuel rail.
1. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly KENR6081 for procedures as necessary.
2. Replace the existing high-pressure tubes, fuel injectors, fuel pressure sensor, and fuel rail.
3. On completion of the rework, check all connections are leak free.
