Test Step 1. ENSURE THAT THE EVENT INPUT FUNCTION IS CONFIGURED FOR THE CUSTOM EVENTIn order to show the custom text string in the event log, the "EVENT INPUT FUNCTION #X SUSPECT PARAMETER NUMBER" must be configured for a special type of event called "CUSTOM EVENT". The "FAILURE MODE IDENTIFIER" must be set to "STATUS (CONDITION EXISTS)". Navigate to the "I/O STATUS" screen by pressing the main menu button, selecting "VIEW", navigate to "DIGITAL INPUTS", then navigate to the input that should be programmed for the custom event and press "OK".Expected Result:The "Event Input Function #X Suspect Parameter Number" is configured for "Custom Event" and the "Event Input Function #X Failure Mode Identifier" is configured for "Status".Results:
OK - The setpoints are configured correctly. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - The setpoints need changed. You need either security level 2 access, or access to Cat ET, to change these setpoints. If changing the "Suspect Parameter Number" setpoint from the control panel display, ensure that the input is programmed with the usage type as "System Event", event parameter as "Custom Event" under "Others", and failure type as "Status".STOPTest Step 2. CHECK FOR WIRING PROBLEMS
From the "MAIN MENU" screen, select "VIEW", then select "I/O STATUS".
Activate the input. Ensure that the appropriate input indication changes. Expected Result:When you flip the switch that is wired between the proper input pin and BATT- for non-isolated inputs or reference for isolated inputs, the "I/O STATUS" screen indication changes from a hyphen (-) to a number, or letter, depending on which number input is switched. If you are in the detailed screen, it changes to "ACTIVE" from "INACTIVE".Results:
OK - The wiring and indication on the OCP are OK. Proceed to Test Step 3
NOT OK - The wiring needs correction.Repair: Repair the wiring. The input should be wired between the appropriate digital input pin and the reference for that input.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THAT THE EVENT RESPONSE IS ENABLEDEach event, such as "Custom Event #1 Condition Exists", has an associated event response configuration. The event response configuration must be enabled for the event to show up in the event log.Expected Result:The "Custom Event #X Condition Exists Event Response Configuration" for the particular
