"ET Configuration Procedure"
Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
Connect Cat ET the service tool connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position.
Turn the keyswitch to the RUN position.Note: Cat ET will initiate communications with the electronic control module's on the machine.
Select the machine ECM.
You are on the main menu. Select the "Service Configuration" menu item. Double click in order to select the appropriate sales model.
Select a sales model.Note: After selecting the correct sales model, Cat ET will exit out of the configuration menu.
Cycle power with the keyswitch. Leave the keyswitch in the OFF position for a minimum of ten seconds.
With the key start switch returned to the RUN position, Cat ET will initiate communications with the ECM on the machine.
Select the machine electronic control module's ECM.
From the main menu, select the "Service Configuration" menu item.
Configure the correct type of transmission.
Double click on the configuration for the correct type of transmission. A window will appear. The window will request the maximum forward gear. Double click on the number of transmission forward gears.
Enter the appropriate number of forward gears. Select the "OK" button.Cat ET will verify that you want to change the parameter. Select "YES".
Select "Engine Configure" in order to select the appropriate engine.

Click on the "Data Link Disconnect" button.
Disconnect the ET from the service tool connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
