Display Brightness
The brightness of the screen on the display should be adjusted in order to suit your working conditions. The brightness of the display can be adjusted using the following key combinations:
In order to increase the brightness of the screen on the display, hold down on the "Menu" key and press the "+" key.
To decrease the brightness of the screen, hold down on the "Menu" key and press the "-" key.Valve Speed
Correct valve speeds depend on the type of the material that you are moving (for example, sand, hard rock, or dirt) and what tasks you are doing (for example, base grade or finished grade). Speed of operation and Engine RPM are factors that can affect valve speeds.
Once the system is placed in automatic mode, blade movement may occur. Blade movement may exceed 21 cm (8 inches). Injury or death from crushing could occur. Ensure that all personnel are clear of the blade before you place the system in automatic mode.
Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Valve Speed - Set" for additional information.Lightbar Tolerances
The lightbars on-grade tolerance are adjustable in order to provide the appropriate guidance for the Design Surface.Refer to the Light Bar Scale - Set section of this manual for additionally information.Blade Wear
As you operate the machine, the cutting edge of the blade wears away. This feature allows the measurement of the cutting edge to be updated.Measure the blade wear regularly. Record the amount of wear in the software for the AccuGrade System. For instructions, Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Blade Wear - Set".Mast(s) Vertical
The left mast must be in the same position as when the measure up was performed. The AccuGrade System only gives accurate guidance when the left mast is in this position. For example, the left mast must be vertical when the machine is on level ground.Note: Ensure that the blade is in the normal working position if you are unable to adjust the blade.Vertical Guidance
Verify or change the desired vertical guidance method. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Vertical Guidance Method - Set" for additional information. The AccuGrade System examines the design surface from two points on the cutting edge of the blade. These two points are configurable by the operator. When a one point method is used, the system examines the design from two points that are 5.0 cm (2.0 inch) apart. Once a vertical guidance method is selected, the system examines the design directly above or below the two selected points. The system will then try to move the blade to those points on the design when the system is in Automatic mode. If overcut protection is turned on, two additional points are examined at the blade tips. This will keep the blade tips from digging into the design when the system is in Automatic mode.
