The secondary Cat Data Link provides the ability for each electronic control module (ECM) to have a Cat Data Link that is local to that engine and another Cat Data Link that is shared. Other engine controls can be connected through a common data link. This enables a user to communicate through a single CCM/phone line to all of the engines in an engine room.The secondary Cat Data Link provides the capability to have as many as eight generator set engines that are connected on the same shared Cat Data Link. This connection is made in order to communicate via a single customer communication module (CCM) and phone line to a remote control. This remote control is for use with switch gear and with remote monitoring and control systems.
