Insert Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) into threaded holes of cover (5) that held screws (3). Screws (3) were removed from cover (5) in the first step. Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (B). The weight of the final drive and brake wheel group is approximately 565 kg (1245 lb). Mount the final drive and brake wheel group in an upright position.
Use the suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) in order to remove cover (5). The weight of cover (5) is approximately 91 kg (200 lb). Remove bolts (4), cover (5) and O-ring seal (6).

Place cover (5) onto suitable cribbing. Remove plugs (7).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Use a suitable bar or Tooling (C) in order to press pins (8) downward and remove pin (9). Remove Tooling (C), spring (11) and pin (8). Use the suitable lifting device in order to remove cover (5) from piston (10). The weight of cover (5) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

Remove seals (12) from piston (10).

Attach Tooling (A) to housing (13). The weight of housing (13) is approximately 136 kg (300 lb). Remove housing (13). Remove O-ring seal (14) and Duo-Cone seal kit (15). Note: The brake discs and the Duo-Cone seal kit will be removed with housing (13).

Position housing (13) onto suitable cribbing. Remove plates (16) and friction discs (17). Note: Note the location of plates (16) and friction discs (17) for assembly purposes. Damper assemblies (18) and (19) are located at each end of the brake pack. The friction material of damper assemblies (18) and (19) should face toward the piston assembly and the plate, as shown.

Use a suitable lifting device in order to invert housing (13). The weight of housing (13) is approximately 91 kg (200 lb). Remove bolts (20) and plate (21).
